In order to avoid misunderstanding, the rules under which contributions to our events may be quoted or attributed are set out below. By attending an event, you are deemed to have agreed to abide by these rules.
Events may be held:
The Chatham House Rule states that "When a meeting, or part thereof, is held under the Chatham House Rule, participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed." The purpose of this rule is to permit the frank expression of views by guaranteeing anonymity to participants.
Our public events are on the record, unless the Chatham House Rule is applied (for the whole or part of any event).
Our private events are held under the Chatham House Rule, unless it is agreed by participants that the event (or part of it) should be entirely off the record.
