Projects

The Transatlantic Institute's activities are organised around three broad themes:

Economic and trade policy This theme encompasses economic and business aspects of globalisation, free trade, tariffs, and fiscal policy.
Societal and environmental framework This theme emcompasses issues of culture, ideology, religion, media and communication, and risk perception.
Defence and security The TI's understanding of security is as a holistic concept. Threats to social groups can originate from economic, social and environmental influences, as well as from conventional military action. This theme, therefore, draws together the security implications of emerging issues in the other two themes, as well as comprising military and intelligence issues.
